EPS and eRD

Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

Prescriptions are all sent electronically.
Please speak to your local pharmacy or our Patient Services team to update your pharmacy nomination.

For more information on EPS please follow this link: https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/pharmacies/electronic-prescription-service/

This does not affect or change the way in which you order your medication.

Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD)

eRD is an alternative way of getting your regular medicines without asking your GP surgey for a prescription every time. This is suitable for people on stable, repeat medications taken at the same dose regularly.

Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) allows your GP to prescribe your regular medicines for up to a year or until your annual review is next due. There will be no change other than you and your pharmacy do not need to re-order your prescriptions, they will be sent automatically to your pharmacy every two months. Your pharmacy will notify you when they supply your last eRD prescription and to book your Annual Review/Renewal of medication

If you would like to be considered for eRD please contact the surgery, or alternatively your chosen pharmacy, who will be able to determine if this is suitable for you.
