We are currently looking to recruit two part-time medical receptionists to join our friendly team. The hours will be 24 per week, Monday – Friday, including a mixture of morning, afternoon and early evening shifts, at a starting rate of £9.00 per hour.

The role will require you to provide a competent and professional quality service to our patients liaising between the wider clinical team, administrative teams and external bodies to support the smooth running of the practice on a daily basis. *Please note that this role requires working in an extremely busy, changeable, challenging and fast paced environment so the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to new ways of working is absolutely essential.*

The post holder must have a positive approach to work, enjoy working as part of a team and understand and demonstrate excellent customer care and communication skills.

Essential skills and experience required:

Excellent English language skills

Able to work under pressure and prioritise in a changing environment

Able to use own initiative

Good computer skills

Desirable Skills and experience required (training will be given):

Knowledge of the EMIS Web clinical system

Awareness of the Data Protection Act

Liaising with Primary and Secondary Care Personnel

Duties will include:

Using the appointment system to book, change and cancel appointments

Assisting patients over the phone and face to face with booking appointments, prescription queries and general enquiries

Passing accurate and timely messages to clinical staff and patients

Liaising with other healthcare professionals

Other general administrative duties

You will be entitled to 5 weeks holiday per year plus bank holidays pro rata.

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our team and patients as safe as possible, we are running a total triage system and all patients must have a pre-booked appointment before attending the surgery. We are following all Government and Public Health guidelines to keep us all safe.
